Aplicare Advantage™ Dressing Change System™ recognized in the Sep/Oct ’06 issue of the Journal of Infusion Nursing
MERIDEN, CT (September 29, 2006) –– Aplicare, Inc. announced today its new Aplicare Advantage Dressing Change System, the first innovation in procedural kits in the last 30 years, is featured on the “New Products and Services” page of the September/October 2006 issue of the Journal of Infusion Nursing (Vol. 29, No. 5, p. 297) – the official publication of the Infusion Nurses Society.
The write-up highlights the fact that the new System “addresses the procedural needs of nurse managers, clinicians, and patients throughout the dressing change procedure”, resulting in reduced inservice time, enhanced procedural compliance, and component sterility being easier to maintain. This has been accomplished by transforming the normally thin, tightly folded sterile drape into a non-slip pocketed “wrap” which, when opened, automatically presents components in their order of use.
The write-up also mentions Aplicare’s two additional and exclusive new products which compliment the new Dressing Change System: Antiseptic Hand Gel packets which can be included in the System, and ExCelAP®, a combination 7.5% PVP-I and 70% alcohol which has been shown to be faster acting and less irritating than 2% CHG and 70% alcohol while being persistent for 7 days.
“We’re excited that the INS has taken note of this advancement in Dressing Change technology. Our System was created with the belief that the only meaningful way to impact and reduce CRBSI’s is to create an environment where the needed components can be used in an intuitive and repeatable manner consistent with their design. With the introduction of the Dressing Change System, Aplicare has changed the paradigm of procedural kits and trays from simply providing clinicians with an assortment of individual components to a ‘System’ which holistically addresses the needs of the clinician and patient throughout the procedure – beginning and ending with hand washing; driving compliance and consistency throughout.”, said Bruce Wilson, Jr., Director of Sales and Marketing.
