DRESSING CHANGE SYSTEM™

For years, the value of procedure kits has been eroded by a relentless focus on cost reduction.  The result has been kits being nothing more than a set of components piled into a pouch.  While the up front cost of these configurations is “bare bones”, at the point of use, time is often wasted and procedural compliance put at risk; the chances of component contamination are enhanced. When taking the entire procedure into account, the cost is actually greater than it might otherwise be!

Rather than making the same kinds of kits as every other manufacturer, Aplicare has taken a fresh look at the needs of the clinician and the patient in developing the next generation in procedural kit design – giving clinicians an innovative and comprehensive system – the Aplicare Advantage system. 

Understanding that while antiseptics are important, a comprehensive approach is critical, including:

• Ensuring hand hygiene - both before and after the procedure
• Easily establishing the sterile field and minimizing the chances of component contamination
• Maintaining order and procedural compliance

This has been accomplished by replacing the sterile towel with a proprietary pocketed "wrap" measuring 18" X 14" and consisting of absorbent towel material on one side and slip resistent plastic on the other. Gauze and adherent pads can be positioned on the towel material; other kit components such as antiseptics, dressings, and tape are placed in the pockets at the bottom.
