Why are you making a product such as ExCel_AP^® that has both Alcohol and PVP-I mixed together? I was told that these two active ingredients are incompatible.

This is incorrect.  Aplicare is not aware of any data which supports the assertion that mixing PVP-I and alcohol causes any problems.  By FDA requirements, combination formulations are required to demonstrate superior efficacy to formulations containing only one of the active ingredients present in the combination.  If used as directed, antiseptic formulations with single active ingredients perform adequately, but combination formulations perform even better.  As evidenced by the safety and efficacy data published in the ExCelAP Technical Bulletin, ExCel_AP^® is safe and effective as both a patient preoperative skin preparation and catheter site maintenance preparation.
